TIC was created by Cancerbackup. In 2008, Cancerbackup merged with Macmillan Cancer Support. It has been designed and written specifically for young people. With information, advice and support on how to cope with cancer, and the space to share experiences with other teens. Or if you would rather talk to one of their specialist nurses, you can phone them on 0808 808 00 00. All calls are confidential and the lines are open Monday – Friday 9am until 8pm.

Funds and organises support and information services for young people with cancer, their families, schools and health professionals. Establishes purpose-built Teenage Cancer Trust Units, and campaigns for better NHS provision for teenagers, and provides its own services. The website offers information about teenage units, about events and what they are working on and there is a forum for teenagers to use.

Aims to brighten the lives of seriously and terminally ill children between the ages of 4 and 18 by granting their wishes and entertaining them when they are in hospital. The 'wishes' fall into four main categories: travel wishes (eg to Disneyland Paris); experience wishes (eg fulfilling a dream for a day); tangible items (eg a bike or musical instrument); celebrity wishes (eg meeting a favourite celebrity). In addition to the wishes, Starlight works in hospitals by organising parties, outings, and providing Starlight Fun Centres which are mobile entertainment units incorporating a TV, video unit and Nintendo Game Cube.

A self help group for adolescents with cancer started by Niki Winnard who was diagnosed with cancer when she was 13 years old. It is a national group that organises various social activities and holidays. It is run by adolescents with cancer for adolescents with cancer and they offer support to others by drawing on their own experiences.
