Youthhealthtalk
The Department of Health is funding a project which is exploring young people's experiences of being overweight.
Youthhealthtalk is a unique website with video and audio clips from interviews in which young people describe their experiences of health and illness. Unlike most web resources aimed at providing information and support, each module is based on a stand-alone rigorous qualitative research project. Youthhealthtalk is operated by the award-winning charity DIPEx.
Recent Department of Health guidelines and the Healthy Schools Programme give schools a central role in the reduction of obesity in children and young people. This research and resulting website will provide:
- a valuable resource for teachers, healthcare professionals and others working with children and young people
- support - the findings will be placed on the YouthHealthTalk website
- an insight into young people's experiences, views and feelings.
